New Nigeria: Rules We Must Live By!

10 Oct 2010 Uncategorized

My fellow Nigerians…

That’s an awesome pick up line. It reminds me of speeches made by
our former heads to state.

In a bid to see the New Nigeria materialise,
permit me to share the following rules or guidelines that will enable us
produce the Nigeria of our dreams.

Let me state that i did not create these statutes but I am confident that
if we follow them, and live our lives by these set laws,
we shall be a better people.

A. GEMSTONE VALUES
Propagated by Fela Durotoye, one of our most inspiring leaders.
It is part of the core values of the New Nigerian.
They are:

1. MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT.
2. BE A SOLUTION PROVIDER.
3. BE A ROLE MODEL.
4. BE THE BEST AT ALL YOU DO.
5. DO THE RIGHT THING AT ALL TIMES.
6. VALUE TIME.
7. CARE AND SHOW RESPECT.
8. CONSCIOUSLY BUILD A GREAT LEGACY.
9. LIVE A LIFE OF INTEGRITY AND HONOUR.
10. MAKE YOUR FAMILY, YOUR NATION AND YOUR GOD PROUD.

These embody the values of a true Nigerian.

B. Universal Declaration of Human Rights
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948 at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris. The Declaration has been translated into at least 375 languages and dialects. The Declaration arose directly from the experience of the Second World War and represents the first global expression of rights to which all human beings are entitled to. It consists of 30 articles which have been elaborated in subsequent international treaties, regional human rights instruments, national constitutions and laws. The International Bill of Human Rights consists of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and its two Optional Protocols. In 1966 the General Assembly adopted the two detailed Covenants, which complete the International Bill of Human Rights.

The UDHR reads thus:

PREAMBLE
Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world,
Whereas disregard and contempt for human rights have resulted in barbarous acts which have outraged the conscience of mankind, and the advent of a world in which human beings shall enjoy freedom of speech and belief and freedom from fear and want has been proclaimed as the highest aspiration of the common people,
Whereas it is essential, if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law,
Whereas it is essential to promote the development of friendly relations between nations,
Whereas the peoples of the United Nations have in the Charter reaffirmed their faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person and in the equal rights of men and women and have determined to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,
Whereas Member States have pledged themselves to achieve, in co-operation with the United Nations, the promotion of universal respect for and observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms,
Whereas a common understanding of these rights and freedoms is of the greatest importance for the full realization of this pledge,
Now, Therefore THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY proclaims THIS UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations, to the end that every individual and every organ of society, keeping this Declaration constantly in mind, shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for these rights and freedoms and by progressive measures, national and international, to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance, both among the peoples of Member States themselves and among the peoples of territories under their jurisdiction.

For more information on this, please see the following:

2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Declaration_of_Human_Rights

Of what essence is the UDHR?
Now, we know what we must demand and fight for as a people and nation. If you are in a place,
and any of these rights are being abused, you have a right under law to demand they be met.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Get It Done Now!

10 Oct 2010 Uncategorized

dear friend,
nothing happens until you make it happen.

Newton’s second law of motion states that everything
will continue in a state of rest or uniform motion except
it is acted upon by a force (internal or external) to do otherwise.

if u wait for the perfect time you will never get things done.

the best time to plant a tree was 20 yrs ago.
the next best time is today.

fear is the greatest limiting factor upon humanity.
remember, fear is simply “false expectation appearing real”.
it is a false expectation.

overcome your fear.
rather than ask “why?”, ask “WHY NOT?”

go now and get your dream done!

Get Rich While Doing Your Real Job!!!

28 Jun 2010 1

Hello my friend,

In just a few short months, people from more than 60 countries have joined this exciting NEW company that is attracting million dollar earners from previous successful companies.

This is NOT another copy cat!

We are NOT using the board system that has left so many with NO result!

You do NOT have to buy multiple positions to succeed!

We DO have a great product that offers TRUE value!

We do have a VERY lucrative rewards program that pays WEEKLY rewards, offers FREE fully funded luxury holidays to qualified leaders four times a year, and allows you to get your money back FAST. . . and earn incomes that will change your lifestyle forever.

Everything is ready for YOU to join Holidays and Cash!

http://www.holidaysandcash.com/justbe

Let me give you an example.

Just three personal sales can earn you a reward of over $80.
Each group of 9 team sales can earn you more than $250.
Already people in our first week are earning reward payments of over $2,500.

In fact one of the leaders in another program who has vast experience with the binary compensation plan we use said that in his last venture he earned over $90,000 but with our binary system he would have earned more than 20 times that much!

We also give you THREE positions with the purchase of our Privilege Pack for the ONE purchase, so you will NEVER need to waste money trying to manipulate the rewards program to make money!

Not only that, if you can position yourself under an active leader who works with you, your team sales can grow as your Upline spills over members under you, adding to your own efforts FAST TRACKING your success.

This is not a gimmick, no tricks, no hype. . . it’s just how the system works!

http://www.holidaysandcash.com/justbe

We studied the competition in depth and created a blueprint for success. . . we’re in over 60 countries in a few months so we are already showing international appeal!

More importantly you need to have a product with great value that has local and international appeal.

Look what our members are saying about our product. . .

“I went into the travel portal with my Upline, Dave, to check on air fare prices and was very impressed as the prices for the very same travel time and flight numbers given to me by my travel agency were below half the cost of the travel agencies prices, so I will be booking a trip to Germany in December via Holidays and cash. Keep up the good work, I know this will take off big time in South Africa and around the globe.”

“Hi, its Rebecca and Paul Jones from the Gold Coast, Australia, and we joined Holidays and Cash a few days ago. We have received a positive response from our friends. I was impressed with how easy it is to join online and have already found accommodation for our next trip to New Zealand that is $30 per night cheaper than my previous time consuming internet searches. With our enthusiasm for the membership package and cash rewards we find that we just naturally promote Holidays and Cash to our friends, wanting to share this opportunity with them. The web site offers great support with training and demos and we have used your u-tube videos too. Looking forward to working with you in the future”

If you are not happy with your success from previous or current ventures then perhaps it is time to make a NEW decision based on NEW information. We have studied where all the others went wrong and created a world class business model that is set for major international success.

Timing is everything! If you position yourself now you can capitalise on the major growth that will occur in your country and worldwide. Unlike other programs your downline does NOT split away from you, does NOT jump over you, and you CAN earn rewards with as little as 3 personal sales!

We DO pay you to UNLIMITED levels in your team. ALL you team sales are STORED for you to earn from. Your upline’s sales spill over into your team and ADD to your team sales making you MORE money!

If you ever wished you could position yourself early with a company set for greatness this is YOUR time.

The Dream…

19 Jul 2009 Uncategorized
It’s Wednesday, December 31st, 2025. The time is 5.30pm. This is a great day. At exactly 7pm there will be a grand gathering of all those who dreamt of this day. Yes, it is the realisation of GEMSTONE 2025. It all started sometime in 2005 I believe, my memory fails me, when a great man called Fela Durotoye, a truly great man, dreamt a dream of a future Nigeria. It was a dream that come 12 midnight December 31st, 2025, Nigeria will be one of the world’s most desirable nations. It was a dream that Nigeria will be so economically buoyant, that we would be among one of the top 20 developed economies of the world. It was a dream that the green passport would be the most sought after the world over. It was a dream of foreign nationals trooping into Nigeria to be a part of the good things happening in Nigeria. It was a dream that Nigeria will be producing at least 1 million megawatts of electricity from many sources of power generation such as solar energy, nuclear reactors, and geothermal sources, not just from hydroelectric sources alone. Guess what? One Nigerian discovered how to generate electricity from the air! I’ll save her name for later. The dream we dreamt back then was a dream that the average Nigerian higher institution will be comparable to the Harvard’s and Oxford’s of the world. Today, we have 15 Nigerian higher institutions among the global top 100. We dreamt a dream that Mushin would be like Dubai, Port Harcourt like Sydney in Australia, Jos like Nevada and many more cities of ours would be so advanced, Nigeria would be a mini-heaven.

Many years have passed and today I can boldly declare that we have become that dream. Tourism has increased so much so that we now have rock-climbing as a sport in Jos, sky-diving in Obudu and Maiduguri, and deep sea diving in Lagos. There’s even this spot called Aquatic City in Lagos. I really can’t explain it but let me just say that it’s like a big aquarium where you can go under it and see the beautiful fishes. The design came from a Nigerian who had seen a prototype in Japan. We have also become a permanent member of the UN Security Council and we are the current head of the African Union. Other wonders in the Nigeria of 2025 are:
-the underground subway systems running from Maiduguri to Sokoto with stops at Potiskum, Azare, Kano, Funtua and Gunmi;
-the ferry system in Lagos that runs 24-7-365 moving both human beings and automobiles around the state;
-the first and second mission to the moon (we are working on the third one now);
-our music artistes have won a total of 14 Grammy awards and have had 35 Grammy nominations;
-our movie industry finally set up “9ja Movie City “at Jos. It’s a 30 acre facility comparable with Hollywood. It’s got 45 studios of different era of Nigeria and many cities abroad. We have won a total of 5 Oscars and have 8 Oscar nominations. We’ve even featured a few Hollywood actors and actresses in our movies. Yeah, movies…home videos are now a thing of the past;
-some individuals have shot a total of 10 satellites into space. Together with the government, we now have 16 satellites. Well, these people put together are richer than the nation. I happen to have a stake in 4 of those satellites. We reasoned that rather than have the satellite TV station, why don’t we own the satellites? We bought over 2 very popular global news stations. Which ones? Well, I’ll tell you much later.
-our democracy has become a model to the world. After massive awareness campaigns across the nation, many things changed. Today, we have a truly representative nation in terms of the government.
-a 10-star hotel in Lagos Nigeria. It’s called The Dream. It’s awesome. It’s got 5 floors underwater! How we did it, I don’t know. The guy who designed it, one young man from Gbekebor, a city near Warri, said he got the inspiration from wanting to have a fun spot near the water. It’s a miracle! The guy is in the Guinness Book of Records.
-the “Multi Car”, created by a Nigerian who got tired of the Lagos traffic. It’s a car that can move on land, water, underwater and capable of lift-off and flying like a chopper. It’s so ingenious, I mean, he franchised it and now our own car factory’s are producing it and selling to the world and the world’s buying them like wild-fire in harmattan.

Time would fail me to talk about the other great things, but today, I begin to wonder what if no one ever dreamed of it? What if nobody worked at making this a reality? For we dreamt, we believed, we fought for it, we worked towards it, we made sacrifices, we made changes where necessary, we asked for forgiveness where necessary, we became a movement, we became a force for change, we spoke about it, we wrote about it, and finally, 2025 is a reality.

Today at 12 midnight, there will be a grand celebration across Nigeria with at least 30 global satellite stations covering the celebrations. 10 of those stations are Nigerian by ownership and origin. They’ll be celebrating The Realisation of GEMSTONE 2025.

Wow…it’s almost 6.30 pm…sitting out here in the front porch of my Parkview Estate home, I am filled with thanks to God that I am alive to see this day…Wednesday December 31st, 2025…GEMSTONE…GEMSTONE is a reality!

I will be speaking at The Dream (the 10-star hotel) at exactly 9pm to commemorate GEMSTONE 2025. I will be speaking on what I have titled “Beyond 2025: Let’s Dream Again”.

Sincerely, I wish you are here to see what Naija has become…a great country we have become. I’m off to my Multi Car now. We dreamt the dream…GEMSTONE…just be!

Some “Just Be!” Lessons from Michael Jackson’s Life

27 Jun 2009 Uncategorized

MJ lived a phenomenal life. WIthout doubt, there are a few things to learn from his life:
1. Start early and focus on your gift: MJ started at tender age of 4. He continued in that which he loved to do. The world had to give him due recognition.
2. Help people to discover their talents and gifts when they can’t see it: His father saw something in him that others later saw. He saw a world hero in his boy. How much many parents of today need to see who their children really are.
3. Relationship power: Diana Ross, James Brown, Elvis Priesley and James Brown were some of the names that inspired MJ.You need mentors, role-models and friends in your life. You cannot do it alone.
4. Be driven by excellence: MJ was addicted to excellence. His videos and songs were of world-class standard. Excellence is expensive but it pays off in the end.
5. Live for something bigger than you: MJ believed in a larger cause: making the world a better place for children. Life is not all about money. Impact sells better.
6. You will go as far as you want to go in life: Desire is the key. Where you see yourself attaining is where you will end up. See right, become right.
7. Youth is sacred: Parents should ensure that their children are not deprived of their youth. There are many grown up babies in the world today longing to be their younger selves again.
8. Not every one is going to like you. Some just want to rip you off. Be wise and discerning. Go where you are celebrated and not where you are tolerated.
9. Keep private things private and public things public. It is not every part of your life that should be made public.
10. Love is not like mathematics. In love, 2+2 is not equal to 4. MJ had 2 failed marriages. Find who you truly love that you may stay happy all your life. And just in case things go wrong, hey, it’s life.
No matter what people say, MJ lived a great life.
Live a great life too.

Let the Beards Grow!

25 Apr 2009 Uncategorized
When I was much younger, I desperately wanted to grow beards. I mean, the idea of having hair on my face was an obsession. I wanted beards so bad that at a point I resorted to applying “beard growth enhancers” (chief of which is methylated spirit) on my cheeks, lower jaw and upper lip. Yes, a few strands of hair sprouted but that was just it: a few strands.

I was excited! When talking with the guys and the dames, I had the uncanny habit of pulling imaginary strands of hair under my chin as though I had “Touch-o-chin-o-whila-talka” disease (that is, Touch and Rub Your Chin While You Talk). Now, was that not success? I was a member of the bigger-boys clique…I had hair on my face!

Beards! But alas, many years down the line, having visited lots of barber’s shops, used various concoctions (that is, shaving creams), engaged many instruments (such as shaving sticks and clippers)and in a bid to keep up with the corporate look by looking clean shaven at all times, I can only wish for two things:
• Someone should please discover something that would inhibit the growth of beards; and
• That I keep my beards and not shave them at all.

Such it is with premature success. You want that job, that money, that relationship, that fame, that pair of shoes, that lifestyle, and many more things so bad that you help yourself get it. When you finally get it, you do not want it again. In the words of The Preacher, “Vanity upon vanity, all is vanity”.

Success is an inevitability of life. If you are patient, hustle while you wait, have the right focus, keep your vision and purpose in view, live by right values and virtues, it is just a matter of time and you will attain your dream in life. If you just let that beard grow at its own pace, you will enjoy the process. Should you do this, you can only but succeed. Why is this so? This is because you were born a success. You struggled with 299,999,999 potential human beings and you won. You were born a success story! You are a success!

Don’t be scared, let the beards grow! Succeed!

Take Charge, Maximize life, Just Be!
